What I Did on Wednesday, 12th February 2025
The marketing agency I’m working with gave me another project—this time for a 10-year-old company that sells telescopic ladders, tool sets, and similar products. The task? A simple (well, simple for me 😄 after working with over 60 clients) 3-step popup to collect opt-ins from new visitors.
- Step 1: Ask if they want €10 off their first order.
- Step 2: Collect their name and email address.
- Step 3: Reveal the discount code.
As always, I studied their fonts, colours, and styles from previous email campaigns and designed the popup to match their brand guidelines.
Here’s how it looked on desktop:

The mobile version is even simpler—no graphics due to space constraints:

But the job didn’t end there. I had to configure some crucial settings to control the popup’s visibility—things like when it appears, who sees it, and whether it should show on every page. I set everything up based on best practices so that new visitors wouldn’t feel annoyed but instead be encouraged to opt in.
That’s all for today! Drop a comment if you have any questions.
